Electrified heating for Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers
The electrified catalytic inductive heating system (ECIHS) represents a significant advancement in liquid-phase reactions, enhancing efficiency and catalyst activity. Traditional external heating techniques often grapple with inefficient heat transfer and slow desorption, which prevent effective catalysis. ECIHS integrates electromagnetic induction with a catalyst composite, providing precise electric heating, even in the liquid phase.
When employed for hydrogen extraction from liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs), ECIHS shows notable improvements in energy efficiency and reaction rates. It aligns with global decarbonization efforts by accelerating complex mechanisms and facilitating sustainable hydrogen production. Moreover, ECIHS’s versatility extends beyond LOHC dehydrogenation, addressing heat transfer challenges in various liquid-phase processes and supporting the advancement of sustainable energy and catalysis.
